A Piece of Nevada History
The town of Nelson was also named “El Dorado” by the Spanish miners that first settled here over two hundred years ago.
In the following years, generations of people migrated to Nelson looking for the minerals that made Nevada famous all over the world, while some other settled fleeing the Civil War in the eastern American states.
The most prosperous mines operated for nearly 100 years, closing in 1945.
