Located around 50 miles away from the Las Vegas Strip is Nelson Ghost Town.
Experience and taste the real old west in this town that lived its best years during the Gold Rush until it gradually “disappeared” when the mines started to close.
A Piece of Nevada History
The town of Nelson was also named “El Dorado” by the Spanish miners that first settled here over two hundred years ago.
In the following years, generations of people migrated to Nelson looking for the minerals that made Nevada famous all over the world, while some other settled fleeing the Civil War in the eastern American states.
The most prosperous mines operated for nearly 100 years, closing in 1945.
In Nelson Ghost Town tourists can now see and visit all the relics from the past, as well as joining the Eldorado Canyon Mine Tour for the fair price of 15$ per person (10$ per children under 12 y/o).
The tour lasts for around 1h15m starting at 9am and needs to be booked in advance. A minimum of 4 people is required.
